MAAG Piimatööstus is the dairy industry company with the broadest product portfolio in Estonia; thereby it is the only dairy industry producing ice cream besides making dairy products, cheese and cheese curds.Of products, 84 different packages are meant for consumer and 11 different products have been packed into bulk packaging.
MAAG Piimatööstus is the only manufacturer of glazed cheese curds that processes the raw material and produces the fresh cottage cheese product under the same roof. MAAG Piimatööstus is the only ice cream manufacturer which uses its own cream. We are the market leaders in Estonia’s cottage cheese segment. MAAG Piimatööstus was the first in Estonia to bring to the market the Calymer nature-friendly jug package and is up to now the only dairy industry in Estonia owning a production line for bottling dairy products.
AS MAAG Piimatööstus is a subsidiary of AS MAAG Grupp and deals with production and marketing of high-quality dairy products and ice creams. MAAG Piimatööstus is based on Estonia’s oldest dairy industry. In 1850 started Kunda Manor Creamery (the later Linnuse Plant – closed down by today), which has become our Rakvere Production Plant by today. AS Maag Piimatööstus (under this name) was established in 2003.At the moment, MAAG Piimatööstus has approximately 11,000 m2 of production space. The production plants of MAAG Piimatööstus located in Jõhvi City and Rakvere City provide work for 250 persons at January 2009.The products are packaged in plastic film, minielo and flow packages, plastic bottles and cans and Ecolean jugs.
Maag Piimatööstus Ltd main factory is located in Rakvere and produces a wide selection of fresh dairy products. The products are made under "Farmi" brand and include milk, kefir, sour-milk, fresh creams, sour-cream, cottage cheese, yoghurt, quark, processed cheese and butter. The "Farmi" products are natural and do not contain preservatives. The products are made according to high quality standards, using Estonian raw milk, modern technology and specially trained staff. The standards are observed through daily quality tests and raw material hygiene checks (of raw milk collection, productions and end products).
Maag Piimatööstus Ltd second factory is located at Annikvere, on the edge of the Lahemaa national park. At Annikvere, Maag Piimatööstus Ltd produces semi-hard cheese, such as Lahe, Ranna and Marta.
Maag Piimatööstus Ltd third factory is located in Jõhvi, Maag Piimatööstus Ltd produces curd-snacks and cottage cheese.
MAAG Piimatööstus uses only domestic raw materials and can ensure the
product quality, cooperating with only the best farms. In 2006 we
processed 13,900 tons and in 2007 we processed 50,000 tons of raw milk.
